Co-ordinator - Out of School Care (Fixed Term)

You are experienced in working with children in a supervisory capacity, working as part of a team, supervising staff and co-ordinating the planning and delivery of activities. As well as having good administration skills you also have leadership qualities. An SVQ level III playwork qualification or equivalent desirable.
Co-ordinate and manage the Out of School Care Service, provide a secure and fun environment for the range of primary children who use it and be responsible for the daily management and delivery of service to the community extending a positive environment for users of the club and staff.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation
This post is regulated work with children protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post has a minimum requirement of 2 references. One of these must be your current or most recent employer.
Location: Rothienorman Out of School Club
Hours: Monday - Friday (7.30 - 9.00 am and 2.45 - 6.00 pm). There may be some flexibility regarding the Breakfast Club hours.

Lead a team of staff to plan, deliver and evaluate the agreed programme with guidance from a parent advisory committee and within an agreed budget framework.
Manage the staff in line with current policies.
Ensure that the club offers a safe and well-resourced environment for users in keeping with National Care Standards as set by The Scottish Executive and implemented by the Care Commission.
Prepare plan and implement a varied programme of activities.
Be responsible for day to day administration of the out of school care service.
Attend meetings and training as appropriate.
Provide appropriate information to the parents’ advisory body
Meet the requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council (or achieve this within 6 months of appointment).Experience of working with children in a supervisory capacity in childcare or equivalent setting
Experience of supervising staff
Experience of working as part of a team
Experience of planning and delivering a programme of activities for children
Good communication skills at all levels
Good organisational skills
Basic administrative skills
Level IV or equivalent management qualification
SVQ Level 3 Playwork qualification or equivalent
