Lecturer - Early Education and Childcare

0.8 FTE/28 hours per week

Base - Falkirk Campus (although may be required to work at Alloa or Stirling Campuses)
The Department of Care, Health and Sport wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lecturer in Early Education and Childcare (Primary, Nursery or play work qualified) to work with learners across SCQF levels 4 to 7.
You will produce high quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching within the specialist area of Early Education and Childcare. You will work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making use of learning technologies.
Ensuring that the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date, you will contribute to the development of elements of provision and enhance students’ learning through providing subject support. You will naturally have a strong learner focus.
You will be educated to at least degree level, or equivalent, within in the specialist area of Early Education and Childcare or have significant industry experience. You may be a member of the General Teaching Council or Scottish Social Services Council or eligible for registration. Ideally, you will have experience in Further/Adult Education and/or in delivering SVQ qualifications in the Early Learning and Childcare area. Ideally, you will hold Assessor and Verifier qualifications (A1/V1) and a Professional Development Award in Teaching or Teaching Qualification (Further Education) or equivalent, or have a willingness to work towards achieving these.
You will have experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills. You will also possess good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and a sound understanding of quality enhancement processes and standards. It would be desirable to have experience in delivering HNC Early Education and Childcare and National Qualifications in Early Years related subjects.
