Under 18 years of age: £4.00 per hour
18-20 years of age: £5.55 per hour
21-24 years of age: £6.95 per hour

East Lothian Council is providing Modern Apprentice opportunities to support local young people into employment who are aged between 16 and 19 years of age and reside in East Lothian.
This position is only open to young people aged between 16 and 19 years of age who reside in East Lothian.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Modern Apprenticeship based at East Lothian Works, East Lothian Council's flagship employability service based in Haddington.
The Modern Apprenticeship will be based at 9-11 Lodge Street, Haddington, with ongoing support from an external training provider to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration. The duration of the apprenticeship will be for a fixed term 18 month period, with the successful candidate commencing in post November 2016.
You will provide reception and administrative support to staff within East Lothian Works. With good interpersonal skills, you will be flexible, a team player, confident and able to converse with members of the public. Daily duties will include answering the telephone, making room bookings, photocopying, word processing and a variety of general office tasks.
Training in the use of specialist software packages (if applicable) will be provided, however a basic knowledge and ability to use Mircrosoft Office packages is desirable.
You must provide evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills (minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or National 4's including English and Mathematics).
To undertake a Modern Apprenticeship Business Administration Level 3 and provide efficient and effective business support to East Lothian Works.

A minimum of SVQ1/Standard Grade General level English/Maths or National 4 English/Maths or Literacy/Numeracy or Intermediate 1 Communication/Numeracy and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
This post involves accessing the public services network, therefore the preferred candidate will be subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS). The preferred candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
