Role Profile

ROLE DEFINITION

To provide a pro-active fraud deterrent service for North Ayrshire Council and East Ayrshire Council and to investigate suspected fraud when it arises.



KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Responsibilities

  • To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Carrying out investigations into suspected instances of fraud against North Ayrshire Council and East Ayrshire Council.
  • Preparing files for the Police and/or Procurator Fiscal and liaising with these agencies as required.
  • Liaising with Council services and other agencies and bodies as required.
  • Attending court to give evidence.
