The Role:
In this role you provide technical and practical support in dealing with recovery of insurers outlays; from issue of proceedings through to enforcement.
You will take initial instructions from clients and to advise, as appropriate on the legal action and all alternatives, as appropriate, open to the client. To Provide Technical support to the team and work provider on both procedural and liability issues.

Key Responsibilities:

-You will assist with day to day supervision of team members in the absence of Team Manager/Deputy Team Manager and provide training to team members on complex issues or changes in law reforms.
-You will ensure delivery of all operational SLA`s and KPI`s as agreed with work providers and manage a complex case load independently, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and court dates.
-You will meet on a regular basis with the person to whom the post holder reports to review cases and any other matters relevant to the post holder's position. To report to the post holder's supervisor immediately any difficulties being experienced, in particular, those which may lead to a negligence action being taken against the firm and/or a complaint from a client via the Solicitors' Complaints Bureau and/or the firm's complaints procedure.
-You will be required to comply with the firm's Training Policy and to attend all training events, both internally and externally, as directed. To comply with all Law Society rules and regulations presently in force and as added to or amended from time to time, as far as the same apply to non-solicitor members of the firm. Will also attend all department meetings as directed and to participate in discussion. To comply with any directions given or decisions made at those meetings. You must be willing to carry out any other duties which may from time to time be required of the post holder by any Partner, Senior Member of the firm or Department Supervisor.

Required Experience:

-Experience in a similar claims handler role. Excellent communication skills (face-to-face, via telephone and in written format) and organisational skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.Candidates must be PC literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The ability to work well within a team environment is crucial to this role. Have previous insurance and legal experience in a similar role dealing with RTA accident claims. CILEx qualification, English Law Degree or experience as an English Paralegal are desirable but not essential.
-The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Credit Reference and a Basic Disclosure Scotland check.
