Our Operator client is looking to take on a Communications Advisor on a long term contract basis based in Aberdeen, UK.

Due to the nature of the role, suitable candidates will reside in or near Aberdeen, UK.

Position Overview
As a key member of the communications team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of internal and external communication strategies for the company. You will support (and deputise for) the Government & Public Affairs Manager in proactively managing the companys reputation with a range of external stakeholders including governmental and regulatory bodies and the media.

Education Attainment & Accreditation
1) Degree/diploma or equivalent in Communications, Public Relations or related field and/or demonstrable practical experience of working in a communications capacity
2) Membership of an appropriate professional body
3) Basic offshore accreditations (BOSIET; MIST; medical) would be advantageous

Professional skills & Experience
1) First-class written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into simple, understandable messages
2) Experience of dealing with the media including in crisis scenarios
3) Strong client consulting, project management and communication planning skills.
4) Understanding of how to best leverage multiple platforms to meet business objectives and audience needs.
5) Demonstrable experience of direct delivery with one or more communications platforms (eg DTP; graphic design packages; video editing; etc) would be advantageous
6) Comfortable working at both strategic and tactical communications levels.
7) Familiarity with public affairs; able to demonstrate an understanding of the political landscape and the ways in which it influences the oil & gas industry
