Job Description

All posts are on a fixed term basis until 30th June 2017.

We have 3 Depute Head of Centre vacancies within Early Years. All posts are fixed term and term time. The successful candidate should assist the Head of Centre / Head Teacher in managing and developing the service to meet the needs of children and their parents. You will require substantial relevant experience of working with children, including supervisory experience, excellent leadership skills and sound curriculum knowledge. Post details and locations are as follows. You will be asked which posts you wish to be considered for in your application.

Post 1 - Kilpatrick School (Early Years Support, Additional Support Needs) - 35 hours per week (age range 0-5)

Post 2 - Auchnacraig Early Education & Childcare Centre - 17.5 hours per week (age range 3-12 years) For this post the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked.

Post 3 - St Eunan's Early Education & Childcare Centre - 35 hours per week (age range 3-12 years)



Requirements

The new PVG scheme replaces enhanced disclosures when undertaking work with Children or Vulnerable Adults. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.



Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
