West Lothian Council is looking to recruit a talented and committed Head Teacher for Bridgend Primary School. Bridgend pupils receive a quality learning experience with positive outcomes for all learners where achievement and attainment is encouraged and celebrated at every opportunity. Bridgend Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the village of Bridgend in West Lothian. The School is an Attainment Challenge School and has set out ambitious and innovative plans for raising attainment for all learners. The school is well-resourced and provides spacious accommodation for pupils and staff. The building provides discrete classrooms with a gym hall which is also used as a dining area. The nursery class which has well-developed outdoor area, has capacity for 20 morning and 20 afternoon children. Children in the nursery are regularly involved in whole school events. The school is part of the Linlithgow Academy cluster of schools. Staff in the school contribute to collaborative working to support the development of staff confidence and professional judgement.
The school roll, P1-7 is currently 86.This session, the pupils are organised in 5 mainstream classes. The school celebrates learner achievements well and recent improvements to the environment for learning contribute to a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere in the school. The school has a strong commitment to supporting all learners. There is a nurture class in the school. Children throughout the school respond well to opportunities to contribute to school improvement.
A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
