Assistant Manager Finance Operations (Mortgages)

In this role you'll have responsibility for providing a full range of month end financial control activities for the mortgage product.

Your role responsibilities will include:

Project Support of Mortgages until go-live including testing and implementation.
Perform and Oversee month end accounting including:
Month end review of journals and underlying workings prepared by an Accounting Technician. Review and challenge underlying systems used to calculate postings to ledger.
Preparation of any journals required.
Liaison with outsource providers and external audit.
Supporting end customers within the Bank including Decision Support, Reporting and business areas.
Ensuring full compliance with appropriate Bank policies.
Balance sheet review and substantiation.
Review daily GL interface reconciliations
Review Mortgage funding requirements prepared by Treasury Back Office
Develop, review & implement any process improvements.
Line management of the daily workload of one Accounting Technician including workload planning and direction, issue resolution, personal development and performance management.
Deputising for the Finance Manager as and then required.

Your skills, knowledge and experience:

Experience within a Management Accounts, Finance Operations, Financial Control or similar environment.
Ideally part qualified or studying towards a relevant qualification.
Preparation and review of monthly accounting journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Mortgage knowledge would be preferred though not essential.
Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
Experience of line management is desirable.
