HR Consultant - fixed term 12 months

Colleague & Communications (C&Cs), Edinburgh (with some UK travel)

In this varied role, you'll support our HR Business Partners (HRBPs) in delivering a full HR service to Bank teams, prioritising people management and the people implications of business planning.

Your role responsibilities:

Coach/support/train line managers to develop their people management skills and to make sure that they own and implement decisions on their colleagues, gaining maximum contribution and commitment from their teams
Support the translation of business strategy into site HR requirements
Provide professional advice and challenge to line managers on HR matters to ensure compliance with company HR policy and legal requirements
Provide pro-active support to HRBPs and line managers in people management issues including exits, succession planning, absence, fair treatment, disciplinary procedures and reward issues
Assist in assessing training needs for HR policy and processes, deliver training courses to ensure that line managers are suitably equipped to perform in role.
Provide accurate and timely reporting on colleague data for use by the management teams to ensure effective decision making
The HR expert for providing day to day support to line managers and HRBPs
Support the administration of restructure programmes within the teams, driving timely and accurate completion in conjunction with the HRBPs, Line Managers, Colleagues and Great Place to Work Groups
Assist and support the HRBPs in the delivery of projects, services and policies ensuring that they are delivered to time, cost and quality standards
Support the HRBP's across specialist areas, e.g. talent management or employee relations issues

Your skills, knowledge and experience:

Experienced within the HR field, preferably in Generalist HR and with employee relations knowledge
Experienced in supporting/coaching/training line managers in people related policies and processes
Experience of change management relating to people
Strong influencing and negotiation skills at a Senior level
Thrives on working in a fast moving, creative, flexible environment
Proactively increases own knowledge and commercial awareness whilst keeping abreast of new innovations
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build strong and effective business relationships
Ability to work under pressure, handling challenging situations with confidence, drive and enthusiasm
Flexible and resilient - can work with ambiguity and adapt as necessary
Self-motivated
High level of PC literacy and numeracy

CIPD Qualified/part qualified
