POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT - CROP PROTECTION

Working within the Crop & Soils Research Group you will be charged with project management and science delivery in support of the Group Manager Crop and Soils Systems who has retained an active research and KE role in the Crop Protection Team whilst concurrently managing the group.
The post will support work deliverables relating to fungicide efficacy, resistance, integrated pest management, crop health consultancy and crop clinic diagnostics. You will assist with day to day supervision of students and duties will include liaising with clients and collaborators, report and presentation preparation, protocol writing, time management of deliverables, field assessments and engagement with CSS technical staff to service research commitments. Assistance with crop clinic samples, technical writing and support to teaching and consultancy colleagues will also be required.
To be considered, you should possess a BSc in Plant Science or Agriculture with a PhD Plant Protection. Along with experience of working across laboratory, glasshouse and/or field environments, you should be highly numerate with a natural flair for report/paper writing - including creating presentations. Experience of project management, statistical/data analysis, experimental planning and plant pathogen laboratory skills are essential as are the abilities to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
A full driving licence and a flexible approach to working hours are essential requirements of this role.
The salary offered will be in the region of GBP22,467 - GBP34,111 and will be based on qualifications and experience.
