You will reduce the unnecessary use of custody where it is used for a lack of a suitable community disposal and to provide credible services that maintain public and community safety.
A Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent) qualification is essential.
To practise as a Social Worker it is essential that the applicant holds a Diploma in Social Work.
Consideration will, however, be given to applicants who have completed the Diploma but have not yet received confirmation of qualification. In this case you will be appointed and paid as a Social Work Assistant until the Social Worker appointment can be confirmed.
You must have the ability to travel throughout Fife.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain a Standard Disclosure, in addition to which registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is essential.
You will undertake offender risk assessments and associated liaison tasks with Police and Social Work colleagues.
You must prepare reports for Parole Board, Scottish Courts Service, MAPPA, Scottish Executive Justice Department and Scottish Prisons Service.
You will have knowledge and understanding of Criminal Justice Social Work.
Previous experience of working in a social work setting is essential, as is knowledge of National Outcomes and Standards.
