The role of the Group Manager will be to provide professional leadership, support and supervision to managers in Older People’s Assessment and Care Management. The Group Manager is responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered and that all statutory responsibilities have been met.
The Group Manager will be responsible for the operational management of Human Resources and budgets and will be responsible to the Senior Manager Assessment and Prevention for all direct delivery of service within their area of responsibility.
The post holder has key responsibilities for the hospital discharge programme and will make a significant contribution to the strategic direction for older peoples services in line with national and local aims and objectives
You should have an appropriate Social Work qualification and significant management experience in social care services.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
The successful candidate will have access to West Lothian Council's Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.
