Based at Centenary Wing, Camperdown Street, you will work full time, 35 hours per week, full year.
You will be GTCS registered, and have an appropriate Degree/Diploma.
You will support schools in developing a whole school approach to Health and Wellbeing within a framework of Curriculum for Excellence, across all strands of Health and Wellbeing (Mental, Emotional, Physical, Social Wellbeing; Food and Health; Physical Education, Activity and Sport; Planning for Choices and Changes; Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood; Substance Misuse). You will engage and strengthen links with Partners in the development of Health and Wellbeing.
You will have experience in teaching health and wellbeing curricular area and have been involved in curriculum development in the area of health and wellbeing. You will also have experience in using pupil-centred learning and teaching strategies. Good communication and organisational skills, the ability to work to deadlines and to initiate and lead developments are also essential. A positive and caring approach and commitment to young people and staff is required and you will also be enthusiastic, tactful, tolerant, supporting, decisive and able to exercise sound judgement. You will be an effective team leader who inspires confidence and relates well to others (pupils, parents, staff, etc). This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
