The Role:





We are looking for a Senior Engineer to provide technical and project management support as required, this may develop towards Business Development in the medium term.This role also provides an opportunity for the selected person to, over time, begin to take responsibility for some of the commercial aspects of the Advice Group including Business Development.









You will be responsible for the following:





Commercial and technical management of projects within the office, ensuring that projects show a profitable result.
Developing strong relationships with existing clients and undertaking project work as required.
Scope, Time, Cost, Risk, Quality and Procurement Management,
Contribution towards the design for structures such as wide span buildings, lattice towers, maritime and associated structures, from initial concepts to detailed designs in accordance with Eurocodes and relevant British Standards,
Sketch drawings and details for CAD drawing by others checking and reviewing of these prior to issue.
Checking and reviewing of calculations produced by others,
Preparation of Contract Documents, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and supervision activities,
Inspection work and Condition reporting by planning and carrying out inspections and surveys throughout the UK and internationally, preparation and checking of others reports.
Providing sound engineering judgement and advice.
Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.







Key Requirements:





Essential:



BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering,
CEng, MICE
Good communicator (written and verbal)
Professional experience in civil or structural engineering
Experience managing multidisciplinary projects
The candidate should have a head for height and be prepared to be trained to work safely at height in accordance with the Working at Height regulations and to enter Confined Spaces safely.





Desirable:



Maritime specific civil engineering experience,
Overseas experience,
Experience in commercial aspects,
Experience with NEC ECC FIDIC contracts
Project management qualification
