Brasserie Assistant required to work in Westwoods Health Club. Candidates should ideally have food preparation and service experience however this is not essential as training will be provided.


To assist in the day to day operation of the Club, ensuring that all health and safety legislation codes of practice and operation procedures are compiled with at all times.
To maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the club at all times. To undertake regular cleaning duties and checks as required by the Management Team.
To maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of the Club's 'Emergency Action Plan' (EAP) and carry out emergency procedures as required.
To actively promote the name of Fettes and the Westwoods Health Club in all transactions with members and visitors.
Maintain a high standard of customer care in all transactions in accordance with the company's 'Normal Operating Procedures (NOP)'.
To actively sell the benefits of membership to the club to prospective members and seek to retain existing members.
To attend regular meetings as required by the Management team.
To operate on a shift rota basis as a member of the brasserie assistant team, incorporating evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required to effectively cover all Westwoods Health Club's opening hours.
To be competent in opening and closing the brasserie.
To efficiently and accurately manage the POS and cash handling systems.
To understand appropriate stock levels and report low stock to your line manager.
To know how to prepare all items of food sold and understand appropriate food hygiene to ensure no cross-contamination of products.
To understand and demonstrate stock rotation to minimise wastage. This includes being vigilant when stock reaches its out of date life e.g. cans / milk.
To ensure all prepared food is labelled correctly with expiry dates and that food is disposed of at the appropriate time.
To understand how to effectively clean all equipment within the brasserie.
To understand how all equipment operates within the brasserie.
To maintain a polite manner with all our members and prospective members at all times.
To ensure the tables and chairs within the brasserie and on the terrace are kept clean and tidy.
To know where both stock rooms are, how to access them and what is stored where within them.
