Dalweem Residential Home, Aberfeldy

Working in the position of Cook in Charge providing meals and snacks for up to 24 Service Users. In addition the post holder will be asked periodically to provide meals and snacks for visitors and prepare buffets on special occasions.

As Cook in Charge you will have responsibility for organising, delegating and monitoring the workload of the kitchen team, whilst ensuring food safety management systems are in place which meet with all the required food and health & safety legislative requirements, whilst ensuring quality standards are being achieved.

You will be responsible for creative menu planning, within the set budget allocated. Menus will include a variety of complex dietary needs to provide nutritionally balanced meals using fresh and seasonal produce throughout the year.

You should have a proven track record in catering and able to provide quality high standard meals and baking.

Ordering and rotating stock provisions is also part of the role responsibility as is keeping accurate records, therefore IT Skills would be an advantage. Training will be provided in this area.

You should have the following:

City & Guilds 706 1-2 or equivalent

Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or willing to train to attain this.

Supervisory skills and experience of working in a supervisory role.

Good communication skills in order to work alongside other team members as well as residents as part of the consultation process.

A Healthy positive attitude to team work and be able to lead, as well as delegating tasks to other team members.

Experience of working in team environment.

Knowledge of Catering equipment.
