Job Description

 

We currently have two vacancies for Early Education & Childcare Officers across the Clydebank area. Both posts are term-time and the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked. Please see specific post details below.

1. Linnvale Early Education and Childcare Centre, Fixed Term until 29th June 2017 on 17.5 hours per week working 5 mornings per week.  This post is catering for children between the ages of 3-5 years. 

2. Lennox Early Education and Childcare Centre, Permanent on 35 hours per week. This post is catering for children between the ages of 0-3 years.

The successful candidate should work as an effective member of an early learning and childcare team, delivering flexible high quality, child centred services, which meet the needs of children and their families. 

The successful candidate must either be registered with SSSC or be able to register.

 



Requirements

The new PVG scheme replaces enhanced disclosures when undertaking work with Children or Vulnerable Adults. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.



Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
