Role Profile

Living Wage Allowance

North Ayrshire Council supports the Scottish Government’s ‘Living Wage’ initiative, which provides that all employees should earn at least £8.33 per hour. Therefore, successful applicants will be paid the ‘Living Wage’ - (the Hourly Rate for the post + a Living Wage Pay Supplement, in order to bring their earnings to £8.33 per hour).

ROLE DEFINITION

To ensure the safety of children crossing the road at a designated point who are going to or coming from an educational establishment.


KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Responsibilities
• To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures.
• To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.

Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities
• To escort people across the road in a safe manner.
• To wear the full uniform provided while on duty.
• To use equipment provided.
• To be fully aware of vehicle stopping distances
• Operate within the current Health and Safety legislation ensuring safe working practice by adhering to the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
