Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Concorde for an experienced Transport Administration Assistant to provide full admin support based from our Distribution Centre in Ayr. The successful candidate will be rewarded with a starting salary of 16,000 per annum plus benefits. Concorde Logistics, part of the Steinhoff UK Retail Group, are experts in the field of furniture home delivery and assembly. We have a network of over 8 Distribution Centres, responsible for delivering furniture to over 300,000 customers per year. As Transport Administration Assistant, you will delight our customers and deliver on our promises by providing full support to the Transport Manager with regards to control of transport administration. You will also assist compliance with all transport requirements including; planning; pre-brief and de-brief, as well as with 5PDS processes. As our Transport Administration Assistant your key responsibilities will be split into the following: Customer: - Engage all external and internal customers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner ensuring that they are left with a lasting positive impression of our home delivery service - Liaise with Stores, other DC's and internal / external customers (e.g. suppliers); inclusive of auctioning branch request; unwanted stock - "clearance" - Call off customer picks and paperwork or other appropriate duties supporting the warehouse, as required - Answering and responding to all incoming calls in a prompt and polite manner - To ensure that any internal/external customers queries or concerns are dealt with in a professional, friendly and courteous manner, following the relevant company guidelines Operations: - Liaise regularly with the management team with regards to damage limitation of the inventory - Ensure that the inventory is accurately counted and logged as per agreed schedule - Escalating all risks / relevant queries to management as appropriate - Establish an in-depth knowledge of the Warehouse and Transport systems, inclusive of PDAs - Ensure inbound / outbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately - Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation - Undertake administrative and filing duties to meet needs of Transport Administration - To comply with procedures and processes to ensure the effective, efficient and professional operation of Transport Administration General: - To participate as an effective and willing team member in order to achieve individual and team goals - To ensure the health and safety of Self, Customers and Colleagues is not at risk, by taking all reasonable steps to ensure safety in the workplace. - To undertake prescribed training and development. - To undertake any tasks as reasonably requested by management We are looking for a flexible Transport Administration Assistant with a passion for the company, who would ideally have experience of working in a similar role in a similar environment. You must have an understanding of the importance of the 'Engine room' of Home Delivery and its contribution to the wider customer experience and a professional attitude to your work. Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of a computerised warehousing system and Microsoft excel spreadsheets (training will be provided) and be a clear and confident verbal communicator.
