Working as part of the Home Care team, you will ensure care and support to service users is delivered according to agreed care plans. The Team Leader will work as part of the team and will carry out normal duties applicable to their grading and within the time allowed out with team leader responsibilities. Duties include regular advice and direction to the home care team(s) to assist them to undertake their home care duties; allocate work to home carers; ensure the home care team carries out, in an appropriate manner and at the agreed time the instructions given to them; complete basic reports and collate information regarding the delivery of home care service to clients.
A knowledge of care services and national care standards and issues affecting service users is essential, as is the ability to understand and follow processes and instructions. It is essential that you have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; interpersonal skills and have a responsible approach to sensitive information. You must also be flexible to work to a shift rota including evenings and weekends. It is essential that you hold or have the capacity to achieve an SVQ Level 2 in Care or an equivalent qualification at level 5 (SCQF) or above, which is approved by the SSSC for this grade of post.
