£26,278 - £29,657
Pullar House, Perth

We require a Finance Officer to work as an integral member of the Service Based Accounting Team which provides a comprehensive financial management service to the Council's Environment Service.

The role requires you to provide a wide range of accounting and budgeting support including contributing to the preparation, monitoring and reporting of the Revenue and Capital Budget and the completion of Statutory Accounts.

You will undertake budget variance analysis, complete financial returns, maintain the Council's general ledger system and provide financial guidance to budget managers and Council projects.

The post is an excellent opportunity to broaden your knowledge of Local Government finance and develop your experience in providing accounting and budgeting support to a large and diverse front-line Council Service.

You will be qualified to an HNC in Accounting (or equivalent) or studying towards membership of AAT or a CCAB accounting body.

Having worked in a financial environment for at least one year, ideally within local government, you will have proven accountancy skills with experience of preparing and monitoring budgets, preparing financial statements and using financial management systems.

You will possess good numerical skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel. You must possess effective interpersonal and excellent communication skills together with the ability to meet strict deadlines and be a pro-active and motivated team player.
