Location: Adventure Aberdeen, Fairley Road
Duration: Casual 'as and when' required
To prepare, develop and deliver adventurous activities to the high standard expected by Adventure Aberdeen.
PVG Membership for Children and/or Vulnerable Adults or the ability to obtain this prior to commencing employment.
Certified First Aid Training (with a minimum of 16 hours)
Job Specific Skills:
Certificated competence to lead at least two adventurous activities.
Competency to take part in a number of adventurous activities.
A range of leadership techniques and strategies for working with groups of young people.
A mature understanding of the skills required to work in a dynamic, busy and demanding team.
The post holder needs to be able to demonstrate an understanding or experience of:
The benefits and opportunities presented by Outdoor Learning and Outdoor Education and if appropriate residential education.
The principles of safety and risk management and its practical applications.
How to structure and deliver activity sessions involving key principles of the Curriculum for Excellence.
Working positively and creatively with young people with additional support needs (ASN) and who can demonstrate anti-social behaviour.
