Social Worker - Children's Wellbeing (15+ LAC/TAC Team)

Salary: £29180 - £32921 per annum (£15.99-£18.04 per hour)

This social worker post is located in the 15+ Looked After Children/ Throughcare Aftercare Supervisory Group in Children's Services. The team comprises of an experienced Team Leader who is supported by two Senior Practitioners, a Throughcare After Care Nurse and a team comprising of social workers and family support workers. We are a busy team committed to supporting our care experienced young people and young adults to realise their Pathway Plans. Many of these care experienced young people and young adults are actively contributing to our developing Champions Board.
The successful candidate will hold a manageable caseload of looked after young people, promote the Continuing Care agenda, offer support to care experienced young adults and have opportunities to participate in and facilitate group work. There is also an opportunity to undertake some youth justice work. We value our strong network of partners both within the Council and with external agencies who share our passion to Get It Right for Every Care Experienced Young Person and Young Adult in East Lothian.
To provide an effective service to vulnerable children, young people and their families/carers, promoting a high standard of practice, in accordance with statutory obligations, policies and procedures.

Approved qualification in Social Work, and SSSC registration.
A full current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements of this post.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
