Job Summary

The Directorate of Student Recruitment is responsible for delivery of the university's student recruitment targets in both the home and international markets through implementation of its strategy to deliver progressive growth in core and nominated markets.

Joining a small, busy team, you will be primarily focussed on supporting the Regional Managers to delivery their territory plans in international markets. Development of relationships with new and existing education agents will be vital in achieving the plans and a core part of the role. Educated to degree level in Marketing or a related subject, you will have extensive experience working in a sales oriented service driven culture.

Your experience will include events delivery, working in a sales environment, as well as experience  of international markets/marketing.  Your role will also include regular work during unsociable hours (evenings and weekends) and regular overseas work.

Job Description

RESPONSIBLE TO:  Regional Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR:  Student Recruitment in designated markets

PURPOSE OF POST:  The post holder will undertake student recruitment activity designed to increase the number of applicants and students who enrol at Robert Gordon University. Representing RGU in market with the objective of raising profile and building relationships with prospective students, recruitment agents, sponsorship bodies and other key stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:  To achieve the student recruitment targets for designated markets by contributing to the development of market plans and effectively managing budgets to maximise return on investment from each designated market.

To represent RGU at a wide variety of recruitment events and undertake recruitment activity in the designated markets. Research, organise information and provide presentations to prospective students, their advisers and relevant organisations, e.g. Scottish Universities International Officers Group, British Council.

To develop an extensive knowledge and understanding of RGU and its degree courses and provide detailed pre-application admissions advice and guidance to prospective students and education agents to inform their decision making.

To assist with the review and evaluation of recruitment activities, including the compilation and analysis of statistical data and the production of market reports to inform recruitment strategy and course development; contribute to the development of market specific marketing materials liaising with Marketing, and Schools accordingly.

To maintain the database of agents, train new and existing agent counsellors, grow and maintain relationships with all agents on behalf of the Regional Managers to support and drive student enrolments.

To monitor and respond to email and telephone enquiries made to the International Office mail box and enquiry line.

Qualifications and Professional Memberships

First Degree preferably in Marketing or a related subject

Knowledge and Experience

Experience of events delivery

Experience of international markets/marketing

Experience of working in sales focused environments.

Extensive experience of working with internal and external customers to deliver efficient and effective services


Qualifications and Professional Memberships

Membership of Chartered Institute of Marketing or similar professional accreditation/membership

Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge of higher education and student admissions processes.

Demonstrate experience of working in student recruitment and education marketing, and current UKVI regulations
