RWE Generation are currently looking to recruit a Project & Planning Engineer role in Markinch. This role is new to our structure and will be recruited on a permanent basis.

Main Purpose Of Job
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to join the team at Markinch power station in a planning and project management role. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will plan overhauls, manage breakdowns and deliver projects. You will also contribute to the overall management of the plant, manage projects which improve the plant's reliability or capability and support short-term planning requirements. You will also lead on compliance with the CDM Regulations.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and experience of power plant maintenance and engineering and to build a network with peers across a modern fleet of power stations.

Acoountabilities
- Produce and manage the station's planned and unplanned outage and capital scheme project programmes.
- Ensure the station complies with statutory and mandatory requirements and lead on compliance arrangements with the CDM Regulations.
- Plan and co-ordinate external resources (e.g. off-site engineering support) and services (e.g. scaffolding, lagging, welfare facilities, parking requirements) to meet outage requirements.
- Project manage specified station capital projects.
- Engage appropriate specialist project management and quality management support, both internal and external, e.g. GMOS outage teams and Technical Support.
-Provide oversight of the PRISM work management system and support its progressive improvement and implementation.

Knowledge and Skills
• The successful applicant will possess an engineering or scientific qualification of HNC level or equivalent, along with engineer-level experience in either a planning, mechanical, electrical or control and instrumentation role.
• The most important requirement is to be able to deal with competing requirements for resources or access to plant with different work package managers and to resolve these issues in a constructive, low key style.
• IT competence is important. The applicant should be familiar with common planning and work management software.
• Experience of dealing with a broad spectrum of stakeholders who require different approaches is important.
• Being fully committed and flexible to meet the business requirements is essential.
Resources:
• Outage plans produced following relevant internal guidance regarding content and process "gates".
• Outages completed on time, with all planned work having been completed safely.
• Budgets managed to ensure actual spend meets plan at year end.
• This role will not have any direct reports.
• Budgetary responsibility will be limited and the sum total of budgets managed is not expected to exceed GBP1m per year.
