Hours: 2 x 37 hours per week (Shift Patten: Week 1 - Monday - Thursday 06:00-14:00, Friday 06:00-13:30, Week 2 - Monday - Thursday 14:00-22:00, Friday 13:30-20:00)
We are currently looking to recruit time served Mechanics with heavy vehicle experience to join our Fleet Services Team.
Our Fleet Services is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Council’s vehicle fleet for over 1,300 vehicle plus plant. You will undertake a diverse range of duties from servicing; repairing cars and light vans and maintaining a mixed fleet of vehicles from buses up to HGV refuse vehicles. A Driving license is essential and a good working knowledge of electrical and Hydraulic systems would be advantageous. The successful candidates will be required to participate in a stand-by call out scheme, for which an additional payment will be made. These roles will be an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to enhance their existing skills through working on a varied fleet and gain a formal qualification as well as benefiting from manufacturers product training.
We also operate a wide range of plant, ranging from grass cutting equipment to agricultural tractors, loading shovels and forklifts.

Salary will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
The successful applicant must possess a Category B driving licence, Category C vocational license (HGV) would be desirable as is a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for the vocational license holder.
