Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to work within West Dunbartonshire HSCP Children & Families Management Team (Children with Disabilties) and the Youth Services Team.

Post 1 - Youth Services

The successful candidate will manage a team of social workers/youth service officers within our authority wide Youth Services Team. You will be involved in the coordination and management of service delivery for young people and their families within the framework of relevant legislation, council policy and departmental procedures.

Post 2 - Children and Families (Children with Disabilities)

The successful candidate will manage a team of Social Workers and a range of support staff. You will be involved in the coordination and management of service delivery for children and their families affected by disability, within the framework of relevant legislation, council policy and departmental procedures.

Requirements

The new PVG scheme replaces enhanced disclosures when undertaking work with Children or Vulnerable Adults. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.



Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act.
