The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are delighted to invite applications for the post of Fireground Technician based at Newbridge in the East SDA (base location will be Thornton until March 2017).


The main purpose of this role is to provide key operational support to the delivery of training. The successful candidate will be responsible for the construction and breakdown of training events / scenarios, maintaining and servicing the wide range of equipment used within the training facility, coordinating and controlling spares and stock and liaising with internal and external customers of the Training Centre.


Applicants require to be self-motivated with excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills in order to perform to the standard required for the role. Many aspects of the role will involve ensuring equipment is compliant with regulations and legislation, and so, a high level of attention to detail and dexterity is vital.


The successful candidate will hold a full UK Driving licence and have experience in a similar role working with and maintaining tools/ plant/ machinery. An awareness of COSHH regulations and a current First Aid qualification would be beneficial.
