Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist within West Dunbartonshire HSCP. As an integrated service, the post may be of interest to those from an NHS or Local Authority background.

The post will encompass both the Adult Care Team (predominantly physical disability aged 18-64) and the Hospital Discharge Team (aged 18+, but predominantly older people); and also involves close liaison with the Community Older People's Team.

Both the Adult Care Team and Hospital Discharge Team are interdisciplinary, with Occupational Therapists and Assistants, Social Workers and Assistants, Physiotherapists, Nurses and rehab staff. You would work very closely with the Health Team Lead & Senior Social Worker for the respective teams.

There is opportunity for development of the service, and the successful candidate would be key to this.

Requirements

The new PVG scheme replaces enhanced disclosures when undertaking work with Children or Vulnerable Adults. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
