LOCATION: Edinburgh

JOB TITLE: Wellbeing Project Officer - Edinburgh

SALARY: Circa GBP27,000 per annum

BENEFITS: Performance related pay reward and recognition, 28 days annual leave, season ticket loan, paid sick leave and contributory pension.

WORKING HOURS: Permanent, 35hrs per week, Monday - Friday.

THE COMPANY: Since 1863, our client has worked to ensure older people can live without fear of poverty, loneliness and neglect. But they've done it all quietly, behind the scenes. Now they have plans to offer their independent information, advice and friendship services to tens of thousands more older people and their families, and to use their service delivery experience to campaign for the UK to be a better country in which to grow old. To help support their ambitious plans our client is now looking for a Wellbeing Project Officer to join the Wellbeing Service team based in Edinburgh.

THE ROLE: Based in Edinburgh, your role as a Wellbeing Project Officer will be to provide effective and efficient support, to ensure projects and services are delivered to agreed targets and milestones, with a particular focus on integrated wellbeing, friendship, telephone support and face-to-face and to enable increased social connections and reduced loneliness for older people.

Key Responsibilities of the Wellbeing Project Officer to include:-
  • Provide support to a range of projects and services, including face to face and telephone befriending, book clubs, discussion groups, online friendship groups and other services, as required
  • Co-ordinate and supervise service activity from volunteers to ensure effective service delivery
  • Experience of managing remotely based volunteers.
  • Ensure all service delivery meets agreed Quality and Organisational standards including responding appropriately to safeguarding issues, as required
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of agreed project plans and schedules Monitor progress to ensure achievement of milestones, targets and compliance with budgets and guidelines with line managers.
  • Support robust project monitoring and evaluation including impact measures
  • Support cross-organisational team working

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Wellbeing Project Officer will have proven project management skills, including the ability to work flexibly and autonomously, managing individual projects to meet organisational objectives and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including; the ability to report on progress both verbally and in writing, to collaborate effectively within a team and build relationships are imperative to this role. Experience of engaging older people or befriending is desirable.

Key skills/experience essential for the Wellbeing Project Officer role:
  • Experience of co-ordinating activities to ensure projects and work programmes are delivered on time and to the agreed quality standards (preferably in a charitable service environment)
  • Experience of data entry to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to resolve problems & deal with queries in a proactive manner
  • Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages and CRM systems
