Class Teacher, Harrysmuir Primary School, 35 hours per week, fixed term until 3rd January 2017 (Maternity Cover), closing date 25th September 2016

Harrysmuir Primary is a non-denominational school which serves the Ladywell area of Livingston. The school roll is 415 within a 16 class structure and nurture class. The school Management Team comprises of a Head Teacher, Depute and two Principal Teachers.

The school works very effectively with the other schools in the Inveralmond Cluster and has a good reputation for strong distributive leadership. Staff work closely together to ensure all children receive a positive learning experience in a secure stimulating environment. The school has retained Eco School Status, Fair Trade Active Status and Level 2 of Rights Respecting School Award. It has achieved Level 1 International School Award and is working towards the Gold Sport Scotland Award.                   

This year, the priority for improvement is raising attainment through improved collaborative working across the Cluster and improved assessment and moderation within Literacy and Numeracy.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council.
