Based in Galashiels, Borders College is the largest provider of post-compulsory education in the Scottish Borders with 1,270 full-time learners and 3,950 part-time learners. The College is engaged in a large number of partnerships in the Borders and plays a leading role in learning and skills development in the region. As an active member of the local Community Planning Partnership at an operational and strategic level the College works with local employers to make a key contribution to driving forward social and economic development in the area.
We are now seeking to appoint a new Principal and Chief Executive. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead a successful institution and build upon the strong team work between students and staff. It will need someone who shares and can successfully realise our values - Inspiring; Collaborative; Innovative; Supportive and Excellent.
As Principal and Chief Executive you will lead an innovative, responsive and sustainable College that strives for successful outcomes for all students and motivates its staff to deliver outstanding performance, and is highly regarded by partners, employers and the wider community.
You will have a significant and successful track record of strategic leadership and management at a senior level within a complex environment. With a sound understanding of financial accountability and good governance you will provide both academic and managerial leadership. A clear thinker and excellent communicator, you will have an inclusive management style and a passionate commitment to take forward and deliver the College vision and mission for the success of our students, staff and the communities we serve.
