Job Description
Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com Sports Coaches for Football; Gymnastics and Trampoline; Basketball; Tennis; Hockey and Athletics are required, on a casual basis, to deliver classes within the current citywide sports programme. Variable hours are available and may be in multiple locations within the city. Please indicate your preferred sport(s) on your application form. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure and Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £6.70 per hour. A Living Wage supplement will be applied up to the equivalent of £8.33 per hour, as appropriate. Previous applicants need not re-apply.

Requirements
You will have the minimum qualifications required for the post, either a UKCC Level 1 for Gymnastics / trampoline or Basketball or Tennis, SFA 1.2 coaching qualification, Hockey and Athletics Sports Leader Award is essential to deliver within the programmes.

Responsibilities
As a Sports Coach you will assist in the teaching/coaching of a variety of client groups of varying ability. You will assist the delivery of a progressive and developmental programme, maintaining and updating participant records, checking all teaching equipment and ensuring that a safe and comfortable environment is provided at all times.

The Individual
You will have the minimum qualifications required for the post, either a UKCC Level 1 for Gymnastics / trampoline or Basketball or Tennis, SFA 1.2 coaching qualification, Hockey and Athletics Sports Leader Award. You will have a general interest in Football / Gymnastics and Trampoline / Basketball / Tennis / Hockey and Athletics and have experience of working with primary school aged children. You must be able to work effectively with a variety of professional partners, parents and children and possess excellent communication skills. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure and Culture Dundee.
