Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias). £25,000 to £27,000.
Central Belt, Edinburgh.
A major food manufacturer in the Central Belt (Edinburgh end) has an immediate requirement for a time-served (or qualified) multi-skilled maintenance engineer from a mechanical background.
As a food manufacturing specialist engineer, you will will attend to all mechanical faults and undertake PPM on plant equipment including conveyor systems, pneumatics and steam processing equipment.
Although an electrical qualification is not required, some experience in identifying mechanical faults from electrical control systems will be beneficial.
You will have a good understanding of hygiene requirements in a food manufacturing environment and an excellent knowledge of safe practice in dealing with breakdowns, ensuring equipment is isolated/locked out etc.
Some welding experience (MIG & TIG) would also be beneficial although all round mechanical equipment knowledge from a food/FMCG manufacturing environment is the core requirement for this post.
You will be joining a hard working but friendly engineering team consisting of electrical, mechanical and welding specialists and will have the opportunity to progress within this leading manufacturer.
Shifts are unique to this particular site and consist of mainly day and back shift rotation with nights only coming up once in a while.
Key skills:
Time served/Qualified mechanical technician
Must have food/FMCG manufacturing experience
Welding experience beneficial.
Excellent fault finding and repairs knowledge
Solid understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and conveyor equipment
Additional knowledge of pressurised steam and refrigeration is beneficial
